Green roof’s drainage and storage layers

Layers that drain and/or store water are essential for the functioning of the green roof. The drainage layer is selected based on the roof pitch, the required drainage and water retention capacity and the properties of the relevant vegetation and substrate layer.

For roofs with a slope smaller than 1:10, we recommend Kerabit GreenDrain 25 and 40 sheets. These products are manufactured by Isola with decades of experience in green roof construction. Kerabit GreenDrain 40 is the right choice for sites with high water retention and drainage capacity requirements, such as roof gardens.
